Diane Lee Newman, is an Associate of Sand & Saidel, P.C. in the Corporate and Workers Compensation Practice Groups, where she has practiced workers’ compensation and employment law defense litigation since 2002. Lee represents employers, insurance carriers and self-insured employers in workers’ compensation and employment law litigation throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She often acts as defense counsel in matters involving both workers’ compensation and employment law claims.

Lee spent the first decade of her career practicing employment law and workers’ compensation law litigation on behalf of employees, and she tried to verdict a major jury trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Lee has several reported decisions in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and New Jersey Superior Court, Trial Division. In addition, she has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Lee also sits as an arbitrator in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Lee holds a B.B.A Degree in Human Resource Administration from Temple University, where she graduated summa cum laude, and a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law-Camden. She also holds an M.B.A. Degree from Temple University, Fox School of Business. Ms. Newman is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the New Jersey Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Lee has served as an adjunct professor in the Paralegal Studies Program at the Community College of Philadelphia since 2004. She regularly teaches a course in Employment Law and has also taught Civil Litigation I and II to paralegal students. She has lectured at the College on a variety of employment law and workers’ compensation topics. Lee is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (“SHRM”) and Tri-State Human Resource Management Association.
