Richard Sand is a Co-Founder, and former Managing Shareholder of Sand & Saidel, P.C. After graduating cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Temple University, Richard earned his law degree from the New York University School of Law, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi, an international legal honor society.
Richard has vast government and political consulting experience. Prior to forming Sand & Saidel, P.C., Richard served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; Deputy Attorney General for the Pennsylvania Department of Justice; and on the transition teams for both Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell, and Governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Corbett, where he counseled the Governors on matters involving labor, industry and education. Richard’s current practice involves insurance defense, employment practices, and government consulting, and he is regarded as a Top Attorney in North America.
Outside the practice of law, Richard is a Philadelphia University professor, an accomplished and award-winning author, having authored 12 books; an appointed member of the Pennsylvania Historic & Museum Commission; a recipient of the Senate Citation for contribution to the arts; and a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (martial arts).
